Close to attractions and amenities.

Many of the guests found the location of the hotel very convenient and used it as a base to explore the Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales as well as various other attractions in the area. There are many walks and nature trails on the hotel’s doorstep as well as good local pubs were guests enjoyed savouring the local ales.

Peaceful countryside setting.

If you are looking for somewhere picturesque and quiet then you certainly won’t be disappointed as the hotel is nestled in acres of landscaped gardens and surrounded by Derbyshire countryside. Guests enjoyed spending time in the garden as well as waking up to the lovely views from their guest rooms.

Spacious and comfortable rooms.

Most of the rooms at the hotel have been described as spacious with ample room for furniture and storage. Large beds and wardrobes were appreciated by the majority of the guests as well as the equally spacious bathrooms. Guests found everything they needed in their rooms for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Negative Reviews

Noise issues.

The hotel is a popular venue for wedding receptions and guests were sometimes inconvenienced by the loud music and noise made by wedding party guests. Those whose rooms were located above the function suite complained about not being able to get to sleep due to noise disturbances.

Bar on the small side.

The hotel bar was described as quite small and cramped with a very limited seating area which meant that guests were reluctant to have their drinks or snacks there.

Problems with radiators.

Some of the guests complained about the radiators in their rooms which they said were quite noisy. Due to the disturbing noise, guests chose to switch the radiators off at night in order to be able to sleep.
