Positive Reviews

Stylish stay

The hotel boasts very unique decor that combines the best of Thailand’s Lanna-style design with an art gallery. Guests state that this creates a unique appeal that gives the entire property a charming ambiance.

Central Chiang Mai all around

Visitors point out that the hotel is located in the heart of Chiang Mai near many of the city’s historic areas. The Sunday Walking Market is a short stroll away while a number of historic temples can be reached in less than ten minutes on foot. The Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is a five-minute drive away.

Hard at work

Travellers explain that the staff at the property does an excellent job of assisting you throughout your stay. Thailand is known for its famed hospitality and the employees live up to this reputation by being friendly and diligent in their efforts.

Negative Reviews

Beds a bit stiff

Guests say the beds at the hotel are fairly uncomfortable, which is less than ideal when you are trying to sleep. The chief complaint is that the mattresses are too hard and can’t be adjusted.

Pass on breakfast

There is a breakfast buffet served at Hong Thong Arun each morning. Visitors state that the buffet doesn’t offer much in the way of options. In addition to this, the food itself is pretty bland.

Take a cold shower

Each room at the hotel is equipped with an en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. However, travellers note that hot water is occasionally lacking in the showers meaning the water temperature can be a bit chilly during your shower.
