About The Fleece At Cirencester

A stay at The Fleece At Cirencester, a listed property in the quaint Cotswolds' market town of Cirencester makes for a unique experience. This 17th-century inn maintains many quirky original features, including wooden beams, and is just a minute's walk from the market square.

The 28 en-suite bedrooms are all unique in their own right, with some superior rooms boasting additional character and period features. Certain larger rooms also boast views over the town. A tea tray and complimentary water are provided in each room.

The Fleece At Cirencester provides free Wi-Fi throughout the establishment and welcomes guests with dogs, for a small supplement.

A full English breakfast is served each morning and a wide selection of international dishes are available in the restaurant and courtyard. Cask ales can also be enjoyed in the bar and beer garden.

The immense Cirencester Park, hosting county shows, cricket and polo matches, is about a five-minute wander away. The Cotswold Water Park is a 15-minute drive away.

Positive Reviews

An atmospheric treat

This traditional, quintessentially English inn makes for a unique stay and is often booked by guests for special occasions. They adore the beautiful building, its original features and the warm charming feel it exudes. The spacious and tastefully decorated rooms boost this overall effect, whilst the lovely views from some of the bedroom windows is the icing on the cake for privileged guests.

Extremely attentive staff

The hotel gives the impression of being a very well-organised operation, with the employees being perfectly trained to take good care of their guests. Guests remark that personnel are extremely hard working and attentive, going out of their way to ensure they feel at home.

Scrumptious food

Dining in the restaurant is usually a very pleasurable experience. Guests say that the food is very tasty, with breakfast particularly appreciated for its wide variety and quality. Guests can help themselves to a nice selection of continental foods, or order freshly-cooked hot dishes.

Negative Reviews

Parking can be problematical

Unless guests have the good fortune to grab one of the limited number of parking spaces in the establishment’s small car park, finding parking and unloading cars can be complicated. Most of the spaces around are limited duration pay and display bays and there is nowhere nearby to park without charges.

Can be noisy at times

Guests are on occasion disturbed by noise from the bar below, street outside, or fellow guests. The smoking area is directly below certain rooms, and those walking past can often be heard.

Old building has constraints

Despite its undoubted charm reviews indicate there can be drawbacks staying in this ancient building. There is no lift and many stairs to climb, whilst the rooms can get quite hot in the summer months, with no air conditioning possible.
