Positive Reviews

Very handy hotel for Channel crossing trips

Being just a 10-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel Terminal and 20 minutes from Dover docks makes this hotel an ideal stopping off option for anyone heading to Continental Europe.

Balcony views are delightful

There are few things more relaxing (and hypnotic) than standing on your balcony watching vessels of every shape and size ply the Channel Bring some binoculars and you may even get to spy on some comings and goings on the French coast.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating

All of the staff members here, from the receptionists to the waiting staff, are a real credit to the hotel, providing exemplary service all round Clearly, The Southcliff's customer services manager is earning his/her money.

Negative Reviews

No on-site parking

You'd figure a hotel of this size (it has 70 rooms) would provide a modest amount of on-site parking Alas, there's none here at all On-road parking is available nearby but this isn't always the most reliable option.

Décor looks a little tired in some areas

It is credit to the management that quite a few parts of this hotel have been refurbished in recent years However, it is evident that there are still a few areas in need of a makeover.

Bar can be noisy on Saturday nights

If you book a weekend break in a room above the 'Office Bar' then be sure to bring some ear plugs with you: Saturdays nights are DJ nights!
