Located in the Jabal Omar Complex, Makkah Marriott Hotel features 426 modern rooms and 52 luxurious suites, and is conveniently close to the Grand Mosque and other holy sites.

Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer views of the city and the Grand Mosque, as well as a LCD TV, minibar, free Wi-Fi and safe deposit box. The private bathrooms feature complimentary robes, slippers and toiletries, and are fitted with rainfall showers.

There are a total of 22 floors at Makkah Marriott Hotel, as well as five meeting rooms with wired high-speed Internet. There is a barbershop and laundry on-site, and Wi-Fi is complimentary in all public areas. Other amenities include a concierge desk, currency exchange, news-stand and front desk.

Many guests appreciate that the property is close to several holy sites, as well as spectacular attractions including The Clock of Makkah, The Museum of the Two Holy Mosques and the traditional local markets. Others add that many of the important Pilgrimage sites are nearby, and appreciate that there is a regular shuttle service.

Several guests love the delectable entrees at the Spice Restaurant, and appreciate the vibrant ambience and stunning decor of the cafe. Others add that authentic Lebanese mezzes and mixed meat grills are served in generous portions, and love the taste of genuine Arabic coffee at the Olive Restaurant.

Busy during peak seasons

Some guests mention that the property is particularly crowded during the Hajj and Ramadan seasons, and note that there is considerable amount of noise in the hallways and inside the rooms at those times. Others add that it is difficult securing reservations at the on-site restaurants during the peak seasons, and note there are also large crowds in the lobby and lounge.

On-going renovation work

A handful of guests comment that the entrance to the building is restricted and narrow due to ongoing renovations, and mention that appropriate signage has not been placed at the entrance. Others add that some sections of the building are closed for public access, and dislike the messy appearance of the lobby.

Inexperienced staff
