Manhattan Bowery Lodge offers simple, budget accommodations in the heart of Chinatown, only a short walk from New York University.

The private rooms and dorms have shared bathrooms and are air conditioned or heated via a central air system. Linens and towels are provided complimentary, and housekeeping is performed daily.

City Central

This budget property boasts a fantastic location in Lower Manhattan, close to the downtown financial district, Chinatown, Little Italy, and trendy Tribeca district. Guests say there are many great dining options catering to all budgets in the area, and plenty of unique shops to check out. The local neighbourhood is deemed very walkable, and most major sights can be reached on foot. However, the subway is only five minutes away, and offers fast connexions to anywhere in the city.

Little Conveniences

Guests appreciated the good Wi-Fi and strong air conditioning throughout the hotel, and the convenience of public computer stations and a shared kitchenette. The small kitchen area does not offer much for complex cooking but is perfect for preparing a light lunch. The coffee and tea in the morning is also a delight.

Clean W/C

The shared bathrooms are reported to be well-kept, clean, and often available. Most guests said they did not have to wait to use the facilities.

Negative Reviews

Noisy Neighbours

Because of poor soundproofing in the building, you may want to pack some earplugs as a precaution, especially if you're a light sleeper. Guests have complained about hearing even their not-so-loud neighbours, and reported that even at night, noise can be an issue.

Small Spaces

The private rooms are very small, and offer just enough space for a bed, but not to lay out large suitcases. Most rooms also lack real windows. Because of the limited space, guests were a bit disappointed that the hotel lacks a lounge area.
