About Hôtel Tre Stelle

With its simple rooms and old world charm, the Tre Stelle Hotel offers budget accommodation in a very convenient location just a few minutes walk from Termini Station.

The rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable, and feature private bathrooms, air conditioning, TV’s, hair dryers work desks and telephones.

Reception can help with tours, transfers and free maps of the Eternal City, while parking can be made available to motorists if requested.

A basic breakfast is available on-site, but for other more substantial fare the city beckons, and the reception staff will be more than happy to offer you personal dining recommendations.

Hôtel Tre Stelle is a fairly central hotel, with many of Rome’s attractions well within walking distance. The Spanish Steps are about 1.5 miles away, while the Vatican is 3.2 miles and reachable via public transport.

Positive Reviews

Very convenient for Termini Station

The Tre Stelle is described as being very close to Termini Station, well within walking distance. Budget travellers especially liked this since it meant not having to take an expensive taxi, or deal with complex metro transfers, when arriving.

Good value if you get a very cheap deal

It seems some guests stayed at rates a fraction of the rack-rates. They reasoned that they paid, in their mind, next to nothing for a room in a central location, and accepted that they would have quite poor accommodation.

Breakfast included

Though it only consisted of a hot drink and a croissant, several guests were quite pleased that they had at least something to get them started for the day.

Negative Reviews

Building and interior are old and decrepit

Unfortunately “decrepit” doesn't seem to be too strong a word in this case. Guests are unanimous in saying the hotel is in a poor state of repair, with very old fittings, furniture and décor. They disagree really only in extent, with some saying they could accept it given a low room-rate, and others saying they would not accept the room again even if free.

Exceptionally rude and unhelpful staff

Although there were exceptions, the vast majority do not think highly of the staff at the hotel. Many describe them not merely as unhelpful or unfriendly, but actively rude. There seemed to be many problems that arose in the course of a stay, and guests didn't have any confidence that any action would be taken.

Usually dirty on arrival

While this wasn't a universal complaint, it was nonetheless much too common for comfort. Many guests describe their rooms as being not merely dirty on arrival, but actually filthy. Of course perceptions are very personal, but it really does seem that there are cleanliness issues.
