Strategic location-close to many sightseeing areas

Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is close to the airport, Balboa Park, and the harbor. The hotel itself is next to Westfield mall. There are plenty of different restaurants and food joints in walking distance, and the seaport area is just a five-minute drive away.

Spacious rooms and facilities

The conference room and hotel's rooms were far better than adequate. Even with a big family, say of four or five, you will have enough room to spread out and relax. Even the pool area has a lot of space for all guests.

Excellent services from staff and front desk

From the valets to the bellhop and guest service check-in, the customer service in this hotel is exceptional. The housekeeping staff members are friendly and helpful, and they will go the extra mile to fulfill your requests.

Negative Reviews

Overpriced and poor parking

The valet parking costs a fortune. There are municipal lots nearby but they don't accommodate in-and-out travel nor can you leave the car there for any extended time. Since there are many public transport options nearby, it may be wise not to rent a car or bring your own vehicle. Many guests just use bicycles to tour around.

Poor security system

A lot of guests have reported that some of their valuables were stolen during their stay. There are security cameras, but they are incapable of taking shots of the culprit. When staying at this establishment, make sure to keep an eye on your items.

Lousy air-conditioning

Some of the rooms have faulty air-conditioning system. Others have compressors that are wheezing, while some just don't work at all. If you experience this, do not hesitate to call the management for a room replacement or quick equipment repair.
