Good base to explore San Francisco.

The hotel is within walking distance of Pier 39 and makes exploring the city's popular attractions such as Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge, which are a 15-minute drive away.

Budget-friendly accommodations

Unlike other hotels in the area, this hotel is rather affordable, and guests found it to be a decent alternative, since it features Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, continental breakfast and coffee around the clock.

Professional staff.

Guests noted that the family-owned business offered professional service, since the staff was polite and helpful and willing to share its insightful knowledge of the area and the city with them.

Negative Reviews

Rather noisy environment

The building is quite old with some original floors still in it, which is why guests noted that they could hear others walk around due to the squeaky floor boards. Furthermore, they noted that the mattress and box spring were wrapped in plastic, which they stated was rather disturbing throughout the night. Moreover, the street has a lot of traffic as well as noise due to the homeless population and some of the illegal activity taking place in the neighborhood.

No air-conditioning

While San Francisco doesn't usually get too many hot days, some guests noted it worth mentioning that the hotel does not have air-conditioning.

Bathrooms failed to impress.

While guests found the rooms to be small but acceptable, several pointed out that the bathrooms failed to live up to their expectations. They stated that the hotel had, in fact, done some renovations, but these appeared to be rather superficial and didn't improve the appearance. Guests reported that the tiles were put up quite amateurishly and the paint job didn't look any more professional.
