Good Location

The hotel is just off of I-275, providing easy access to area attractions like Tropicana Field, as well as the Tampa International Airport and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. The hotel is less than ten minutes from the museums, galleries, restaurants, shopping and nightlife of Downtown St. Petersburg.

Comfortable

Numerous reviewers mentioned that the guestrooms were more comfortable than they had expected. The beds and pillows in particular were very pleasant, and despite being just off the highway, the hotel is very quiet. You should have no problem getting a good night's sleep here.

Free Breakfast

The Comfort Inn North offers a complimentary breakfast, which most guests seem to agree was above standard offerings for a hotel. Most comments on the breakfast mentioned that the food was well-made and provided a good range of options from which to choose.

Negative Reviews

In Need of Refurbishment

The hotel does seem to show some signs of age and may be overdue for a facelift. Guests mentioned such issues as cracks in the walls and old carpet, as well as outdated and worn furnishings and decor in the rooms.

Musty Smell

Several guests reported an odd smell throughout the hotel. The musty odor was present in the hotel corridors as well as in the guestrooms. While a musty smell is common in Floridian hotels owing to the climate, this one seems particularly noticeable.

Low Water Pressure in Shower

You may have some issues with water pressure in the room shower. A few guests mentioned that, despite the hotel recently investing in correcting the problem, the water pressure still seems a bit less than sufficient.
