Positive Reviews

Lovely setting with pleasant harbour walks nearby

The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet part of town. Guests love going for a stroll by the harbour a few minutes away and taking in some amazing views. There is also a scattering of nice coffee shops, restaurants and grocery stores nearby as well as great access to public transport – Sydney North Station being just a quick walk away.

Great pub food

Fans of traditional pubs will feel at home in the bar area downstairs. Guests say it has a great atmosphere and is warm and friendly. It serves good beer and excellent quality pub food.

Good honest hospitality

The down-to-earth staff are very friendly and welcoming to guests, whilst the rooms are relatively well-maintained and clean.

Negative Reviews

Rooms can get hot

If you're staying in the stifling heat of summer, you may seriously regret booking a room here as there is no air-conditioning. Guests say the fans provided make very little difference.

Basic accommodation for the price

Guests feel the hotel is a touch overpriced for what is basically a room over a pub. You may not feel the rates are justified when you have to share a bathroom and have very limited storage space. Problems with erratic hot water and Wi-Fi don't help the cause either.

Noise issues

Staying over a pub you're going to expect to have some noise disturbance. Even though the bar doesn't stay open late, guests still say they hear some noise. You may also get disturbed by noise from fellow guests, especially if you are in one of the connecting rooms. Guests say these are very poorly insulated.
