About Family Inn Saiko

Although known as a city, Toshima is really a ward of Tokyo. From this location, just over one hour from the city centre by metro, Family Inn Saiko provides the opportunity to experience authentic Japanese hospitality.

Furnished to include traditional futon bedding, the 14 en-suite rooms at Family Inn Saiko are non-smoking and include a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi.

Services and facilities, some of which attract additional charges, include laundry and luggage storage. A Japanese soak can be enjoyed in the bathroom which supplements the rooms’ shower facilities. A lift serves the four floors.

A light breakfast is available at this ryokan. Locally, Tokyo Store Higashi-Nagasaki Supermarket and the breakfast venue, Cafe de Japonais, are less than one kilometre away. It is then less than 100 metres to authentic Japanese dining at Yakitori Restaurant.

It is roughly three kilometres to the amusement centre at J-World, ten kilometres to Tokyo’s Imperial Palace Gardens, and one kilometre to Kanamecho Metro Station.

Positive Reviews

Brimming with Japanese hospitality

Those who run this place are said to be very friendly and helpful. Guests find that the staff is a crucial factor in their enjoyment of the visit. They are certainly among the prime reasons for guests vowing to return here at the earliest opportunity.

Offering a slice of Japanese lifestyle

Guests love the quietness of the location and note that the very in-place of Ikebukuro, with its Sunshine City complex, is really close by. It is also, in one way, within easy reach of central Tokyo; but really it could be in a different universe. What appeals to guests most is the ability to wander around this peaceful area and mix with the locals in a way that they thought would never be possible.

Great rooms and comfy futons

The cleanliness of the rooms is a major plus factor in the eyes of guests. They also find that the rooms are far more spacious than anticipated. Guests also admit that the futon beds that they initially viewed with suspicion are actually remarkably comfortable. Bathroom proportions are particularly impressive. Rooms may be lacking a few western-type frills, but this, in guests’ eyes is immaterial. All the other aspects compensate many times over. Guests love their time at this inn, or ryokan to use the Japanese parlance.
