The hotel has two restaurants. The Mackenzie Restaurant offers traditional Scottish cuisine, whilst the Caley Inn Bistro provides a more relaxing setting. A packed lunch is also available upon request.

Friendly and accommodating staff.

The majority of reviews praise the staff on their customer service, including those in the bar and restaurant area of the hotel.

Beautifully located.

The general consensus seems to be that this hotel is perfectly placed, right opposite the ferry dock, within easy distance of a number of nature walks, and a characterful and pretty town right on its doorstep.

Comfortable and clean.

A number of guests comment on how comfortable they felt in all areas of the hotel. The levels of cleanliness also seems to be very good.

Negative Reviews

Very small bedrooms.

The bedrooms are, reportedly, very small indeed, particularly single rooms. A number of guests also commented on the very loud floorboards in the bedrooms, resulting in being woken up during the night.

Poor facilities.

Reviews suggest that the Wi-Fi is very temperamental, even though it’s only accessible in communal areas of the hotel. The buffet breakfast seems to meet very mixed reviews, but overall comments suggest that there is always more than enough to go around.

Desperately needs renovating.

The majority of guests comment on the fact that the hotel is in need of renovation. There are multiple reviews of tired interiors, with the carpets in communal areas not laid properly. The showers in certain rooms are reportedly weak and difficult to oper
