As its name suggests, the hotel is right downtown, next to the famous Boston Common. It is also a short walk to Faneuil Hall, the Opera House, two train stations, the Freedom Trail, the public gardens and shopping.

A full service chain sports club and spa cover three floors of the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common, which guests can use for a fee. Once worn out, relax in one of the stylish rooms and watch something from your own Netflix library.

Despite the luxury price you pay to stay at this luxury hotel, the charges do not end with the room bill or the high prices at the bar. The hotel also charges for Wi-Fi use, to use the gym or to rent a DVD player.

Those arriving in their own vehicle could find working out where to park confusing due to the one-way streets. The hotel parking garage is a block away on a different street, but the garage's elevator exit takes you to the hotel.

A number of guests were disappointed to discover there was no pool at the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common. Many frequent travellers also stated the rooms were a bit small and outdated, especially given their cost and compared to other Ritz-Carlton's around the world.
